The well established Natives Chalet Skills and Cookery Course has, over the last 12 years, helped many students secure their dream chalet jobs in the mountains through it’s unique application of both practical and knowledge sessions. The residential courses are run by ski season professionals and are held at St Teresa’s School for Girls, based in 45 acres of grounds in the beautiful, rural setting of Effingham, Surrey. This is a great location and an idyllic setting. We have use of the cookery teaching facilities on site, plus areas for the students to relax. Including your own individual bedroom. There are extensive grounds and tennis courts to use and Free Wi-fi.
The course duration is one week and run as if you were actually working in a chalet. Although there’s no guarantee of snow, especially in the summer courses!
There are a maximum of 14 students per course run with two tutors.

The course is taught by current season workers who know what the job involves and can share their hands-on experience and tips to help you get the best from your season. You will learn specialist skills and knowledge to help you to run your chalet effectively, as well as improving your cooking ability and how to cope with things that can go wrong!
The course tutors run a friendly course in an encouraging and supportive environment with a guaranteed low student to staff ratio. You will also gain the HABC Level 2 Award in food safety in catering (QCF) on the course.
You will receive a Natives Cook Book, Apron and T shirt.
The Natives Chalet Cookery Course is run at St Theresa’s School in Surrey and as such uses the facilities during their holidays. Therefore the courses run:
1 course at Easter
Through July and August – during the summer break
2 courses in October/November.
The Natives Chalet Cookery Course is the only chalet course that offers on-site individual bedrooms included in the price. This respresents great value for money in comparison to other chalet cookery schools.
The courses are 5 days long in total and run from Monday to Friday, with the option of an early arrival on the Sunday evening. Free transport is provided from the local railway station. Free car parking is available on site.
The course costs only £649.00. If you would like to book an early arrival in the Sunday evening there is an additional £30 charge for the additional evenings accommodation.
